Vintage Wedding Details
Wedding favors have been given to guests of the bride and groom for centuries. A small gift in appreciation of celebrating their special day. The most traditional gift is that of candy presented in a small box or tulle bag, particularly five Jordan Almonds. The five almonds represent Fertility, Health, Wealth, Happiness and Longevity. Today there are thousands of favors available from candy to seeds for planting. A Victorian favor may have been an engraved letter opener. An 80s inspired favor may have been wine, chocolate or candles. A nice choice might be the bride and grooms favorite cookie wrapped in embossed paper and tied with a ribbon. Lace is always befitting of almost any era. Lace pouches filled with lavender or glass votive candles trimmed in lace are nice touches.

Flowers have always played a big part in weddings whether they are vintage or modern themes. From very early days, brides wore flowers in their hair or carried flowers in some fashion. Historically the bride's bouquet has been white but today we see touches of color added. Almost any flower is available today throughout the entire year. A Victorian theme may incorporate small bouquets of posies or a bunch of violets. Do some research to see what varieties of flowers were available during the era you wish to convey or pick your favorites of today.

Invitations are the first contact you will make with your guests and will set the tone of what's to come. They may be elegant, fun or exciting and will give all the information your guests require to celebrate your day with you. The invitation alone could become a keepsake for your family and friends. Choose a style befitting the era you have chosen. Many print types are available, some are elegant, some are fun and some are unique. The papers are also as varied in color, decoration and style as the print.
