It's Showtime!
January and February are the busiest show months of the year. Newly engaged couples are anxious to start the planning process and getting out to as many shows as possible helps in the decision making process. This is a perfect opportunity to meet and greet many wedding professionals. Need help you deciding which type of show would benefit you the most in your search for your wedding services?
These are the bridal shows held at the large venues such as Cal Expo. With over 200 wedding professionals to choose from you are sure to find everything from venues to favors. These shows usually draw very large crowds and though it can be hard to spend as much time as you would talking to a vendor, it is a great way to gather lots of brochures and business cards to review once you get home. Many of the show participants offer special discounts exclusive to the show. Expect to see high-end fashion shows of the latest gowns. It is also a great place to gather ideas for decor and flowers.
Usually held at a smaller venue like a hotel or country club, these are ideal for brides who want more time to interview potential vendors. They also have a wide variety of services to choose from. It is also a great way to tour the venue itself if you are considering it for your wedding. The atmosphere is more relaxed and it is easier to walk through. No lines for food or cake tastings is a plus. There is usually a fashion show as well. Some shows offer seminars for planning. Others have contests and giveaways just for attending. You can also expect discounts from most vendors.
The best tip for any show — bring printed labels with your name, address, phone, e-mail and wedding date for shows to save time when filling out information.
